Copyright and Image Reuse Policy Our Mission The New Norfolk Digital Archive (www.newnorfolk.org) is a private research project dedicated to preserving the history of our local community. Over three years has been spent collating, identifying, and digitally restoring the images found in this archive.

Digital Restorations While the original subjects of many historical photographs in this collection are in the public domain, the digitally enhanced, sharpened, and restored versions appearing on this website are the intellectual property of Roz Chapman.

Under the Copyright Act 1968 (Australia), these restorations are considered "original derivative works." Unauthorized bulk reproduction or scraping of these files is strictly prohibited.

Moral Rights and Attribution We believe in the open sharing of history, provided it is done with integrity. If you wish to share an image from this site for personal, non-commercial genealogy:

Attribute the Source: You must clearly state "Source: newnorfolk.org" and include a link back to the original page.

Respect Research: Do not imply that the collation or identification of these photos is your own work by omitting the source.

No Bulk Scraping: The use of automated tools to download the entire archive for use in private Facebook groups or other websites is a breach of our terms of use.

Why are there watermarks? To protect the provenance of our research and ensure that the "New Norfolk" story remains connected to its source, images are now watermarked and contain forensic metadata. Removing or cropping these watermarks to hide the source is a violation of Electronic Rights Management laws.
