23 Burnett Street - ◦ - 29-35 Burnett Street

  • Thomas Andrews Jnr Motor Garage (- 1920 +)
  • Arthur Whiteley Garage? (1924)
  • Mrs Halton's cake shop on the left, Dudley Salter and then Fisher's Hardware on the right
  • Demolished around 1968 to build garage
  • Golden Fleece (1970s)
  • Beaurepairs
  • Dunlop Super Dealer (2021 to present)
This is the only photo we have of the two shops that occupied the site prior to 1968, a distant view of the rear taken approximately 1954. The two story building to the left is the dentist at 23 Burnett Street and the building next to that is 21 Burnett Street
Aerial view of Burnett Street shows the two shops in 1967 (centre of photo)
Two years later, the shops are gone and the service station is up and running.
