This property is on two titles - the left hand shop on one title and the right hand shop with residence on the second title.

Some time between 1947 and 1963 the blacksmith building was demolished and a second shop was built on the site.

Later the wall between the two shops was knocked out to make a single shop.

Cannell's Blacksmith & Wheelwright ran the length of what is now the left hand shop. The property was sold in 1924 after the death of Catherine Cannell, the widow of Charles Cannell, in 1922

While doing renovations, the old signage for Lena Rice's store was revealed. We have two possible dates 10 years apart - Lena Rice's son Ian says this was revealed in 1985 - however the couple who ran the lolly shop and did the renovations say it was 1995.
